American University of Antigua (AUA) Strategic Campaign & Institutional Design

Overview
At AUA College of Medicine, I led the visual development of multi-channel marketing and institutional communication materials targeting prospective and current medical students. My role involved designing cohesive digital and print assets that aligned with academic branding while improving clarity, engagement, and audience segmentation.

Role: Multimedia Marketing Specialist
Tools: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
Channels: Instagram, Email Campaigns, Webinar Promotions, Print Collateral
Audience: Prospective Students, Current Students, Academic Community

The Challenge

AUA required consistent, high-impact visual communication across platforms while speaking to distinct audience groups:

• Prospective medical students evaluating enrollment
• Current students navigating academic milestones
• Faculty and institutional stakeholders

The challenge was maintaining brand consistency while tailoring messaging for different user journeys.

My Approach

Brand Alignment
Ensured typography, color systems, and layout grids followed institutional standards across every channel.

Audience Segmentation
Designed materials with clear intent:
• Recruitment-focused messaging (aspirational, achievement-driven)
• Academic updates (clear, informational hierarchy)
• Event promotion (CTA-driven layouts)

Cross-Platform Adaptation
Assets were adapted for:
• Instagram square & story formats
• Email headers & marketing campaigns
• Webinar landing visuals
• Print-ready flyers and promotional materials

Consistency across formats ensured recognition and trust.

Design System Thinking

Instead of designing one-off graphics, I developed repeatable layout structures:

• Modular grid systems
• Headline hierarchy standards
• CTA placement consistency
• Visual framing for faculty and student portraits

This reduced production time and strengthened visual cohesion

Impact

• Improved clarity in webinar promotions and event sign-ups
• Strengthened brand presence across social media
• Created recognizable visual patterns across campaigns
• Increased engagement across targeted student communications

Reflection

This role strengthened my ability to:

• Translate institutional messaging into clear visual systems
• Design with both marketing and user clarity in mind
• Balance aesthetics with informational hierarchy
• Think across platforms instead of isolated pieces
